Highway 212 Design-Build
Selected by Road & Bridge Magazine as the No. 1 project in the Top 10 Road Projects of 2007, the Minnesota Highway 212 extension adds 11.8 miles to the existing route and brings major arterial connection to the fast-growing southwestern suburbs of Minneapolis. Bill Wilson, Editorial Director of Road & Bridge Magazine is quoted in the press release as saying, “This year’s winner, the TH 212 Design-Build project in Minnesota, is probably the most complex project I have ever seen.” The Mn/DOT project, being built by Zumbro Constructors includes 28 bridges, 7 interchanges, 6 overpasses, bus-only shoulders, 2 park-and ride lots, extensive use of berms, noise walls, and aesthetic design features.
AET’s services on the design-build team include geotechnical exploration and engineering, Overall project QA/QC management, dynamic pile testing, QA/QC inspection and testing.
