American Engineering Testing, Inc. congratulates Richard D. Stehly, P.E., on his nomination as president of ACI for the 2010-2011 term.

Saint Paul, Minnesota – American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET) a leading engineering consulting firm congratulates Richard D. Stehly, P.E. on his nomination to

President of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) for the 2010-2011 term. He has served as Vice President of ACI since 2008.

Mr. Stehly stated "ACI has enabled me to remain technically competent, and ACI continues to expose me to all the new developments in our industry. More importantly, though, I am motivated to give back to this industry that has shown such support for me throughout my career." Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, MI, ACI is advancing concrete knowledge by conducting seminars, managing certification programs, and publishing technical documents. ACI currently has 98 chapters and 20,000 members spanning 108 countries.

Mr. Stehly is a co-founder of American Engineering Testing and serves as Principal Engineer. He has been with AET since its inception 20 years ago and has worked in the concrete testing industry more than 35 years. He also established petrographic testing at American Petrographic Services (APS). He reviews all petrographic work performed at APS, an affiliate company of AET. He has reviewed more than 8,000 projects in the last 18 years. He frequently speaks at seminars having delivered more than 200 lectures to more than 20,000 people in 30 countries.

Mr. Stehly attended the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities Campus and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and has built a successful career in concrete forensics and engineering. He has served and continues to serve on numerous ACI Board committees, as well as ACI's Board Advisory Committee on Sustainable Development and Technical Committee 130. Dick has traveled to more than 25 countries on behalf of ACI, and was named a Fellow in 2000. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

AET is an employee-owned corporation, providing professional services to public and private sector clients since 1971. AET's 300 engineers, geologists, scientists and certified technicians assist owners, developers, government, consultants and contractors with their design, construction and restoration projects.
